HP in hand

Harry Potter in hand, sprogs' bread shaped and proofing on the counter, sprogs watching Robin Hood (the cartoon version) on DVD: LOML taking a much needed nap, and I am going to settle down with a book and a beverage and enjoy my afternoon! Occasional breaks to bake bread, but basically lots of lovely reading ahead!

Expect another posting, oh, three days from now:-)

Yours, in anticipation!

I read all the others but I am not in any hurry to read the latest.

Eventually I might get around to it. Michele sent to tell you "Happy Reading."

Hey, we're leading parallel lives. I bake my own bread too, and I'm reading happy potter as well. What kind of breads do you bake? I do mostly whole wheat and oatmeal whole grain breads. I bake because it's healthier and cheaper than store bought. I can do sourdough and french boule's too.

Margalit: I bake both white and whole grain breads: probably 60% whites: I don't do sourdough, because my baking schedule is not regular enough, though recently I've been baking every two or three days, so it is getting close. I frequently use old dough in making a starter, to mimic the sourdough effect.
I'd pay the price for good bread if there were anywhere around here that sells it -- there isn't, and bread is such an important part of my life that instead I learned to bake it. And got reasonably good at it, too:-)

Thanks for visting, everybody!

Hope you enjoy your book, a lot, a lot...! You are in very good compamny, it seems...A great many of the people here in the States and around the world are doing exactly what you are doing this weekend---and it would surprise me to read on Monday that some people have already finished the book....!
I've never read any of the Potter books and I've never seen any of the films either. But I think it is fabulous that this book has inspired so very many to go to their bookstores, and READ! I say Hooray to that.

In regard to your comment: I think you are probably right about this underlying sadness...there is a lot to feel sad about...And I am in my twilight years, along with so very many people that I know...many of whom are struggling with health issues that are depressing....BUT, having said that, I feel I try to balance these things with the beauty of nature---especually this time of year....the birds, the bees, the flowers....the amazing process of life renewing itself....Having my own Health Issues has changed my life considerably....I can no longer do many many of the things that I use to be able to do, and that is not going to change....This brings a certain sadness to the present that I cannot change either....But, again, I do the best I can, under the circumstances. I appreciate your sensitivity very much, though you will probably keep sensing this sadness, because THAT is part of life, too, I'm sorry to say.....No, not all of life, by any means, but a big part of life at this point, for me.
Writing about better times and people who are dear to me and in Morris case, now lives in an 'Assisted Living' place and does not paint anymore---well, there is great sadness in his situation now---this vital creative presence, that though he is alive, is NOT the man he was, anymore...

I didn't mean to go on here....but, your words sparked all this....! I don't think of myself as basically a 'sad' person, at all...more that I am keenly aware and feel, the sadness that life holds, along with the great great joy....!

Today on my daily photo Blog about the Town of Château-Gontier (France) my subject is about humanism.
It is high time that humanism is with dimensions in Wall Street and on the other stock exchange places in the world.
Come and visit my photo blog.
Make that our indifference does not make us to them next victims.
Relay this fight in your own blog.
In advance thank you for them.

It looks like a lot of the world will be quiet except for the turning of pages.

Have you finished the book yet? (lol)
Michele sent me over to see if you are still reading! Well, maybe you are taking a "book" break...!

Nope: I got little chance to read today: so even though I read until midnight last night I'm only a third of the way through.
Gone are the sprog-free days when I could just read and read and read: and this evening I'm cooking dinner (for the bookstore owners who sold me HP, as it happens!)
I'll finish it, it will just take a little longer. It is a pain not being able to watch CNN anymore though!

Sounds like you've had an almost ideal reading time! The waiting time with bread is the best time to do things like read and relax, which is why I'm making some bread this evening (to relax, of course)!

I hope you are enjoying HP. I'm only a 5th, or maybe less, into my copy, but so far so...dramatic!

Oh how spooky. The clonies helped made pretzels, they watched Disney's Robin Hood and I did lots of reading.

Pretzels turned out tasty. First time I ever did them.
