How to write

Today we get to tell the research students how to write a paper --- we have some experience of this (both writing papers and teaching undergraduates how to write research papers). Of course, the fact that we have some experience doesn't mean that we are any good at it! Even more, although we've collaborated on research quite a bit over the past six years, we still have different writing styles: and this comes through in this morning's presentation --- "do it this way" --- "no, do it that way".....
