Test part 3

Test part 3.

The result is these three posts, the bodies of which were written in sequence as you read them. The signatures were not, and nor were the titles. That is the trick, and it appears to work.

So, this is now a trick I can consider using if I want to tell a story in order, but I want to write it in order online too.

Yours, in conclusion,
N.

Michele sent me over to grade your test. I give it an A. 'Cause I'm generous like that ;)

Sorry Mar: I was testing out creating posts first then editing them afterwards --- if I just create the posts and save them as drafts, then they are published in creation order: so to get the effect that I want, I create post 3, then post 2, then post 1, saving as drafts in that order.
Then what I do is write the part of post 1 that I want, then write the second part by editing post 2, and finally write the third part by editing post 3.

And the posts will appear as a story line on the blog as
Post 1
then
Post 2
then
Post 3
and I'll actually have *written* them in that order too.

Bread Box: now I'm completely confused. I know it's past my bed-time but I just can't get my head round it. I'll try again tomorrow but can't see how it could be easier than what I've now got used to. Well done anyway!

Pat: read the post two above this one, and in the comments I've tried to explain it again from scratch! Let me know if it doesn't help, and I will try to walk through it slower -- the key difference is that you get to write the posts in the right order once you've decided how many you are going to need, and what titles they are going to get...

It may in fact be exactly what you are doing anyway!

Breadbox, I could do that sort of posting much easier before Blogger made the change to blogger 2. Now, you can do it if you are careful about changing the times on the 2 and 3rd posts, to something before the 1st post (top one). It just used to work better for me before.

Hmmm. Kenju -- I wasn't aware that you could go in and change the timestamp in blogger. That was why I was creating the posts in reverse order, to get the timestamps right from the start. Will have to investigate further...
