Has Skibo really broken his toe???

Skibo today, in a battle of wits over whether he'd get a time out or not, raised a step-stool in anger against a door, and promptly dropped it on his toe --- which now has a blackened nail, and he has trouble walking on it. At the very least, it is severely bruised, we are worried that he'll lose the nail, perhaps he has broken it: it looks likely to put a serious damper on next week's holiday (that is, our vacation for the next year or so...)
AAAAaaaarrrrggggghhhhh.....

Yours, in sympathy for my ailing wee boy,
N.

Ow. My toes just curled in sympathy...Smashing your toenail hurts about as much as plucking a nose hair. Ow.

Michele sent me over to say "ow" just one more time... :)

Awww....poor Skibo. That had to hurt. I'm trying like heck not to think about Thumper's comment about pulling nose hair. Now my tow and nose hurt. :)

Toes and bad things happening to them are difficult! And you are right..these things take a long time to really get well....Gravity, they say, amd the fact that we are standing so much...! I hope it doesn't put too much of a damper on your vacation...

Oh dear. That sounds very painful. Fingers crossed that it won't affect your holiday too much, and I hope that skibo's toe gets better very soon.

Ouch! I've been there, and it's not a fun place to be. I'm sending good health vibes to your house.

So is Michele. She asked me to send you her best.

hey! it's me again.....this time via Michele.....

One time when I was about 14 years old, I was in the middle of a swimming test, minding my own business when I kicked out my whip kick for the breast stroke and hit another swimmer. I wrenched my baby toe so bad I thought I'd faint. But, I was determined to finish because I really wanted to pass the swim exam. I did and I did.....and later found out I had broken it. It hurt like hell. Unfortunately, wee little plaster casts for baby toes don't exist.

Is Skibo's broken? Tell him the BEST medicine for it is floating it in salty water.

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone: I'll pass them on to him (together with birthday wishes:-) -- he's three tomorrow).

It looks like he may well end up losing the nail, but at least he's moving around without too much obvious pain.
