I'm thrilled to hear that the Clay Mathematics Institute has finally managed to decide to award the first of the Clay Prizes to Grigoriy Perelman, for his proof of the Poincare Conjecture. This, you may recall, made a splash a few years ago, including Stephen Colbert smashing a doughnut from a torus into a sphere to make the point that he deserved a Fields medal.
I suspect that Professor Perelman will refuse to accept this award. But it's wonderful that it has been made.
