The crazies

Listening to republicans describe what is happening as "laying the cornerstone for socialism" leaves me speechless.
What is going on today is a baby step, a teensy weensy baby step towards real health care reform in this country.  There's not even a public option, let alone a single payer system. 
The entire plan is basically the same as proposed by republicans two decades back.  It's a right-wing solution to a problem that needs a real government-based answer.  And yet the republicans are insisting it's socialism?
