Turnout in Washington State

Both parties had a caucus in Washington State a couple of weeks ago: and both have primaries today: the Republican primary actually determines more delegates, but the Democratic primary is merely for show, as far as delegates go.
And even so, it appears that the Democrats will spank the Republicans on turnout.

Yours, with apologies to all those who are not completely obsessed with the minutiae of US politics!

I didn't go because I will not vote in our state primary. I will not declare a party. I think it's bullshit that the DNC and GOP have come in and changed all that we have done for years. F-them.

I think the Republican turn out was smaller because most who would generally vote conservative, like me are independent. Yes, I do vote across the line, on a lot of issues and people running for office.

We're an odd political bunch up here in the NW. I found that most that are born here, may state verbally to be of one party, but if you talk to them on their fundamental values, they're more to middle than they claim. For example, many of our government officials are liberal Democrats but we voted for absolutely no taxes. Not that makes much of a difference because our state and county governments are notorious for ignoring the peoples vote and doing what ever they want.

Sorry for the rant. You pushed a button. :)
