Childrens' stories

I was reminded by a picture on Carmi's site (by the way, I only just realised that the site was Written, Inc, not Written In C!) of the importance of balloons in Boo and Skibo's lives.

So, over the next few posts, I think that I may explain, in part, why balloons are such a big part of their lives, and also tell some stories that we have been telling them for some time now. Not for you, mind. For me: so I can't forget them and need reminding again!.

Yours, inspired,
N.

  1. Can't wait to read all about it here. I was intrigued by your comment on the flying fluffs' impact on your family.

We had a similar epiphany after moving here when our eldest was 2 years-old. Our hometown was too big to have hot air balloons, but the geography in our new home is ideal for them. They're a regular fixture in the skies, and it's common for us to simply come across a launch in a park nearby.

It's such a neat signature for a town, and our kids just love the lore of it all.

Dropped by - again - from Michele. I hope you're not sick of me yet :)

  2. Carmi,
Not at all sick of you or your comments!
And as for the stories, I am about to start editing them this evening, and now that I have been instructed on how to change the date on a posting (which is really obvious once you know it, and far from it until then -- a sign to me of bad design!) I don't have to worry about posting them in a week or two and having them lost in the "last month's postings jungle....

We lost our balloons to a city half an hour further away this year. Such a pity.

  4. hey there again ce soir.

there's a balloon fiesta down river in Sussex NB every September and I've never gone to see it.

I would love to ride in a balloon....don't know why since I'm a chicken when it comes to flying in a plane....

dont forget to pack the supply of water balloons for the trip.

Hi! Sorry that I've got comment moderation activated --- I had a few unpleasant comments which forwarded people to bad places automatically --- so now I like to check that comments are real before allowing them.
